Prof Dr Graham Kendall
Professor Dr Graham Kendall is a member of the Automated, Scheduling, Optimisation and Planning Group in the School of Computer Science & IT at the University of Nottingham. Prior to his academic career, he spent over 15 years in the IT industry where he managed over 50 people and was responsible for a variety of small, medium and large scale IT projects.He is a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College(2003-2008) and is an associate editor of the International Journal of Systems Science and INFOR, the journal of the Canadian Operational Research Society. He is a member of the editorial board of Intelligent Systems in Accounting Finance and Management and Cognitive Neurodynamics.Professor Kendall is the principal investigator on 4 currently active EPSRC awards and is co-investigator on 9 other currently active awards. In total, he has attracted over £5M in external funding. This includes an EPSRC PLATFORM award (GR/S70197/01, £423K) and a recent responsive mode award (EP/D061571/1,£2.6M). Professor Kendall has published over 75 refereed papers in international journals and conferences, and 5 book chapters. He is also the editor of 8 books. He has chaired 6 international conferences, which includes establishing the MISTA (Multidisciplinary International Conference onScheduling: Theory and Applications) series of conferences, which have been run in Nottingham (2003), New York (2005) and Paris(2007); all chaired by Professor Kendall. He has served on over 80 programme/technical committees since 2000. He currently supervises 9 PhD students and has supervised 8 PhD students to completion.
Prof Dr Siti Mariyam Shamsuddin
Prof Dr Siti Mariyam Shamsuddin have received Bachelor and Master degree in Mathematics from Fairleight Dickinson University(FDU) Teaneck New Jersey USA, and PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia. She used to be a Head of R & D Cluster of Engineering and ICT, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2007 until 2009, Head Department of Computer Graphics and Multimedia from 2001 until 2006, and Head of Soft Computing Research Group, UTM, from 2000 until April 2014. Currently, she is holding a post as Director, UTM Big Data Centre, Skudai Johor Bahru (bigdata.utm.my) which focuses on Data Science and Big Data Analytics ranging from R & D products and services. These include Professional Certificates in Data Science, Professional Certificates in Big Data Analytics, GPU-based Computing Courses, GPU-based Machine Learning, Big Data QR Codes, GPU Big Data Analytics, Nth Biometrics Systems for GPU-Platform and Cost-Effective Big Data Platform. Prof Siti Mariyam have experiences dealing with data analytics started during her bachelor and master degree in Mathematics in USA where she worked part-time as Library Cataloging Analytics at FDU Library (July 1988 – May 1989), Computer Analyst and Insurance Analyst, NJ USA (1989 – 1990). Her experiences in solving industrial problems ranging from fundamental issues to practical applications and these include Intelligent Solution for Web Caching in e-Business Transaction, Machine Learning approaches for Air Condition Product Design, Data Analytics for Polymer Degradation, Retail Sport Analytics, Desk Help Service Analytics, Malware Analytics, and others. Prof Siti Mariyam have published many journals and conference papers. Her research interests include Big Data Computing, Machine Learning, Soft Computing, Pattern Recognition, Biometrics Systems and Intelligent Graphics. She also served as an editor of Scopus-index Journal – International Journal of Advances in Soft Computing & Its Applications (http://www.home.ijasca.com ).
